Princeton-Bucharest-Nuremberg Seminar in Early Modern Philosophy

The Princeton-Bucharest Seminar is moving to Nuremberg in what we hope will be a permanent partnership between our three institutions. The PBN seminar 2025 is organized by Dana Jalobeanu, Daniel Garber and Rodolfo Garau. Dates: June 30-July 4 2025.

Student supervision

From 2025 I will be Professor of Early Modern Philosophy at the University of Technology, Nuremberg. I will supervise students in both Bucharest and Nuremberg. I am in fact looking for students willing to work with me from September 2025 onwards.

At the University of Technology Nuremberg, I have advertised a fully funded PhD position, starting on September 15. Here are the details if you consider applying.

I am looking for students with a background in philosophy and the sciences and with an interest for early modern philosophy, but I am open to supervise students coming from other backgrounds as well.

Epicureism și modernitate, curs și seminar. Am updatat și refăcut cursul nostru de Epicureism și modernitate, ținut împreună cu Andrei Cornea și Grigore Vida. Este un curs motivat de preocupările noastre de cercetare. Vom vorbi despre Democrit, Epicur și Lucretiu, Giordano Bruno și Francis Bacon, atomismul englez al secolului al XVII-lea, Descartes, Gassendi și Newton.

Workshop de scriere academică. Atelier intensiv de scriere de lucrări. Cum învățăm să scriem o lucrare? Care sunt pașii de la idee la primul draft? Cum se face cercetarea bibliografică? Și alte (multe) întrebări legate de scrierea academică.
